Custom Development

Business & Decision develops and delivers best-in-class application development solutions to suit our customers’ unique business requirements and strategies. Our experts leverage new technologies, enhanced frameworks, and mature methodologies to create superior applications that feature standardized processes and enable business transformation. We adopt a partnership approach with our clients’ entire ecosystems—their partners, suppliers, and customers—to deliver the best possible services, together.

We work with our customers to determine the application development environment that best meets the business, IT, and cost considerations. We are experts in .Net, ColdFusion, and Force.com implementations. We are equally competent whether the implementation uses an Oracle or Microsoft database on the back-end.

  • We employ Microsoft’s .NET for custom development and integration efforts to offer a strategy to connect information, people, systems, and devices through software. Integrated across the Microsoft platform, .NET technology provides the ability to quickly build, deploy, manage, and use connected, security-enhanced solutions with Web services. .NET-connected solutions enable businesses to integrate their systems more rapidly and in a more agile manner.
  • We employ ColdFusion for custom development for clients who are interested in a Linux based front-end solution or who have existing ColdFusion applications. We have a very mature MVC approach to our CF development and are able to develop entire applications in a fraction of the normal development time while maintaining a high degree of structure. This enables customers to easily enhance their application and maintain the original structure.
  • For customers desiring Cloud Computing or Software as a Service solutions we work with Salesforce.com’s Force development platform.  The Force.com Platform as a Service incorporates a complete and fully featured development environment that can rapidly and very cost effectively scale to accommodate thousands of users.   If what you need is a custom application to solve a business problem and don’t want the added burden of hardware and software licensing then this approach is for you.

When off-the-shelf products are either insufficient or do not yet exist, our personalized software consulting services can provide the perfect solution. These unique applications benefit our clients by.

  • Providing applications that meet the specific needs of their business, not just the industry standard
  • Providing applications that are practical and flexible
  • Making data available via the internet to any location
  • Providing solutions when no Commercial Off the Shelf application will suffice

We embrace a flexible, iterative process that allows us to work more efficiently. We emphasize trust, partnership, and collaborative problem solving. We tackle projects as a series of smaller iterations/sprints versus as a marathon, so our solutions mirror ever-changing requirements, limiting time spent on re-writes and fixes.

B&D employs a thorough Implementation Methodology which we have refined over the years. Depending on your needs and requirements we tailor the set of deliverables to “right-size” the methodology component of the project. The goal of our methodology is to maximize quality and minimize risk.

If the client can support a true rapid application methodology that has quality controls embedded in it then we can offer our Agile Methodology approach that includes the rigorous application of best practices engendered by Agile software development, a combination of scrum project management processes and extreme programming engineering practices.

The Agile software development methodology offers an iterative framework and best practices system that allow us to predictably deliver software that works better, faster. The Agile framework lets us continuously adjust to meet changing requirements and thoroughly test to make sure things actually work, allowing us to be a lot more... Agile.
