INTERAKTING AND FATWIRE PARTNER WITH THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF FRANCE TO LAUNCH ITS NEW WEBSITE - eBiz

08/07/2010

Paris, 8th July 2010

Interakting, digital agency of the Business & Decision Group, international Consultant and Systems Integrator (CSI), announces the implementation of a multisite web platform for the BnF (Bibliothèque Nationale Française: National Library of France), and the subsequent implementation of its new website: www.bnf.fr.

Interakting was selected at the end of 2007 to deliver the project and has since been conducting a strategic website construction project over a duration of two years. At the outset, the project was designed with the long term goal to provide a multisite and multi-lingual web platform. The solution of choice was FatWire's Content Server version 7.0.3. The site is now available online at www.bnf.fr and BnF is now completely autonomous in its digital strategy.

The next phase of the project includes integration of BnF's sub sites and access to personalised web 2.0 zones controlled by Fatwire's Engage module, to enable information to be published to users according to direct or indirect segmentation criteria.

"Interakting, as a new-generation interactive agency, combining expert advice with digital technology, was perfectly suited to the configurations of this project, combining all different service lines of the BnF as well as IT management. FatWire has also successfully delivered a specialist content management solution, advanced profiling and performance monitoring," comments Alain Werdenschlag, Director of Interakting.

The main challenges of the project are:

  • - Specific and structured administration of BnF's content
  • - Integration of administration tools for single sign-on authentification (BnF SSO)
  • - Integration of Nutch/Lucene search indexation for all BnF sites
  • - Integration complying with W3C/WAI RGAA accessibility (Silver level).

Franck Verbeke, Director of FatWire Software, France, adds, "This project has enabled us to reinforce our relationship with the Interakting team, bringing added value for all parties involved. Our teams will continue to work closely together as BnF's 2010/2011 roadmap anticipates the migration of some of its other sites onto our platform, as well as our responsibility to keep the platform itself up to date."
